J’avais besoin de saisir et déconstruire le fantasme et la nostalgie que je ressens vis-à-vis du passé 
de ma mère et de la Bulgarie. En entremêlant photographies de famille, recadrements d’éléments visuels du communisme présents dans le paysage urbain, livres, carte, poème patriotique et voix : un territoire 
et son héritage rouge se dessinent, une histoire à la fois individuelle et sensiblement collective. Paradoxalement, je voulais m’en emparer, la vivre et pouvoir revendiquer une appartenance à cette histoire.

I needed to capture and deconstruct the fantasy and nostalgia that I feel about the past of my mother and Bulgaria. By intermingling family photographs, cropping of visual elements of communism present in the urban landscape, books, map, patriotic poem and voices: a territory and its red heritage take shape, a history that is both individual and substantially collective. Paradoxically, I wanted to take it over, live it and be able to claim belonging to this story.
